Computer vision technology project recognized as finalist in ATB Datathon!

The DataPathFinders comprised of Eric Liu, Priya Karanth, Martin Sawicki, Noel Gore, Douglas Kurrant, and Ali Jahani Amiri were honored to compete with some of the most talented machine learning engineers and data scientists in Alberta in the largest datathon in that province’s history. The ATB Datathon, “solve for Alberta, solve for the world”, was hosted at Edmonton’s MacEwan University March 30-31, and focused on solving problems impacting the lives of everyday Albertans; uncovering solutions with potential for global impact.
The team developed a computer vision tool that was recognized by a panel of distinguished judges to be in the top 6 of 45 teams based on impact, originality, structure, and quality of visualizations.
